Tulip HQ – October 6, 2025
Tulip Tech today announced the signing of a large-scale drone battery contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence, aimed at enhancing the defence capabilities of the Netherlands and Ukraine through advanced battery and energy technologies.
The agreement was formally signed by Dutch Minister of Defence Ruben Brekelmans. In partnership with VDL Groep, Tulip will produce and manufacture drone batteries at unprecedented scale using a fully automated robotic production line. The first drone batteries have already rolled off this line earlier this week, a major milestone for European defence technology and manufacturing innovation!
With these strong partnerships, Tulip Tech is scaling production capacity to hundreds of thousands of units per year, laying the foundation for what could become Europe’s own drone battery gigafactory: supporting strategic autonomy, resilience, and sustainability across critical industries.
The agreement was signed at VDL in Born, where Tulip Tech joined Milrem Robotics and DeltaQuad, leaders in unmanned vehicle and unmanned systems technology, in a joint effort to strengthen the region’s defence and energy independence.
Minister Brekelmans and officials from the MoD then visited Tulip HQ in Den Bosch in the afternoon, where they were shown Tulip’s fast-prototyping capabilities and world-class drone battery expertise.
