Before You Hit “Apply”
There’s something you should know. Tulip Tech isn’t a place where you just fill a role. We’re building the future of flying machines — drones and electric aircraft — by reinventing the batteries that power them. It’s risky, ambitious, and sometimes messy work. But if you’re the kind of person who thrives on bringing structure to chaos, read on.
We don’t have layers of management or rigid procurement systems. No mature ERP, no legacy logistics flow — yet. You’ll have the freedom to build and improve how we source parts, manage deliveries, and scale our supply chain. This is foundational work. If we don’t have the right parts in the right place, nothing flies.
We’re small, fast, and serious about what we’re doing. If solving problems independently, working closely with engineering, and owning real impact sounds more exciting than intimidating — you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
Your Mission
We’re looking for a System Test Engineer who’s ready to build, break, and improve things — from the ground up.
We’re need someone who doesn’t just run tests, but builds the entire testing world around them. There’s no big manual to follow. You’ll invent how we test our battery systems, from the ground up. You’ll design the setups, wire the sensors, write the scripts, and figure out how to prove — to us and to our customers — that our batteries can survive the real world, again and again.Your job is to be the voice of certainty in a place that moves fast. The one who finds the problems nobody saw coming, and fixes them.
This isn’t a “step into an existing team” kind of role. It’s a “you’ll build it” opportunity. No test processes? No problem. You’ll define them. You’ll create the infrastructure, write the scripts, plug in the sensors, and make sure our product can survive the real world — again and again.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute system-level test plans for our battery products and supporting systems
- Design and build test setups, both manual and automated, for real-world and edge-case scenarios
- Define processes, metrics, and documentation for test cycles and test results
- Identify, document, and troubleshoot integration and performance issues
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and software teams to embed quality early in the development lifecycle
- Define how we track, report, and improve product quality — and own it
- Be the quality champion in a startup where speed and excellence both matter
What You Bring
- A MBO 4 or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic, Mechanical or Electrical Systems Engineering
- 2 years of experience in test engineering, system validation, or QA (hardware products)
- A hands-on mindset: you’re comfortable with test rigs, scripts, sensors — and solder if needed
- You love building structure where none exists — and then improving it
- Experience working with ISO standards and standardized testing procedures
- Familiarity with EMC testing and software testing methodologies
- You care about quality, but also about shipping
What We Offer
- Competitive salary between €3.200 – €4.000 gross/month (based on experience)
- 38 paid days off per year based on full-time (25 vacation + 13 ADV via CAO Metaal & Techniek)
- 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, and a pension via PMT
- A chance to own and build a critical part of our product and culture
- A fast-moving startup team that values autonomy, trust, and getting things done
- Coffee, smart people, and space to experiment — no corporate nonsense
